About Us

Matelnabakes began March 2020 in our home in Silver Spring, MD. We (Marris & Melissa) were simultaneously taking care of our father who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bile Duct Cancer admist the COVID-19 pandemic.
We took a break from the business after our father peacefully passed in August 2020. However, he always told us how proud he was of our accomplishments which is what keeps us pushing every day.
Since then, we have outgrown our home and now operate out of a commercial kitchen in Frederick, MD.

We are so grateful to keep this business alive in his honor.

Who We Are and What We Do
Matelnabakes offers homemade cinnamon rolls and other baked goods by Melissa & Marris Linsao.
What does "Matelna" mean?
Matelna comes from a combination of our three sibling names that our parents used to reference us as kids:
Matt (Matthew), Christle (Melissa's middle name, nicknamed "Tel"),
Christiana (Marris' middle name).
